One of our many passions has been to accurately recreate classic echo and reverb units from back in the day – tape, drum, oil can, springs, plate. As sonic archivists, we seek to emulate all of the sounds and behaviors of the original units – respecting those elements that made them so compelling while continually looking for opportunities to expand their range and usefulness. We also look to the muse to steer our direction on completely new paths never really knowing where we will end up – some familiar places and others uncharted. Catalinbread Royal Albert Hall WIIO RAH Hiwatt Emulation Guitar Effects Pedal

Catalinbread Royal Albert Hall WIIO RAH Hiwatt Emulation Guitar Effects Pedal
YOUR BEST SOURCE FOR PRO AUDIO GEAR. Catalinbread Royal Albert Hall WIIO RAH Hiwatt Emulation Guitar Effects Pedal. The Jimmy Page 1970 Royal Albert Hall sound. In January 1970 Led Zeppelin hit the stage of London’s historic concert hall, Royal Albert Hall. At this performance Jimmy Page expressed himself masterfully with a broad pallet of tones and GIANT dynamic range. Of course this has a lot to do with Page’s playing technique and Gibson Les Paul. His backline amps, custom Hiwatt heads into Marshall cabinets filled the entire hall with a cornucopia of colors at levels ranging from a mouse whisper to rave ups louder than a jumbo jet taking off only inches over your head. The folks at Catalinbread love the RAH performance, but they hadn’t considered the possibility of capturing it to put into a pedal One day their friend Charlie got ahold of Catalinbread’s chief circuit designer Howard Gee to ask if we could do it. Charlie said that he’d been trying to get this tone for years and told Howard, if anybody could do it would be Catalinbread. Having proven his ability to capture the essence and experience of famous amplifiers, Howard began experimenting with what is now the RAH. This overdrive effects pedal features the specific three-knob tone circuit straight from the custom Jimmy Page model Hiwatt. Like most traditional amp EQ circuits, the knobs are interactive, meaning turning one can alter the behavior of the other. The magic is getting the Mid and Bass controls dialed in together. Tweak those until you get the right tone for your guitar and amp. Youll notice that the Treble knob is fairly subtle, adding a bit of bite as it is turned up. If you scoop the Mid and turn up the Bass however, the Treble knob will seem a lot more active. The Catalinbread RAH is designed to deliver guitarists an incredible dynamic range that responds to picking hand and/or volume knob. Like a good amplifier the RAH is VERY uncompressed, which means there is little to hide behind. This pedal is for players who appreciate the rewards and experience of a WIDE dynamic response. Overdrive inspired by the 1970 Royal Albert Hall performance. Authentic 3 knob tone stack from the “Jimmy Page” Hiwatt. Designed to give incredible dynamic response with your pick attack and your guitar’s controls. The item “Catalinbread Royal Albert Hall WIIO RAH Hiwatt Emulation Guitar Effects Pedal” is in sale since Friday, September 18, 2015. This item is in the category “Musical Instruments & Gear\Guitars & Basses\Parts & Accessories\Effects Pedals\Distortion & Overdrive”. Catalinbread Belle Epoch EP3 Tape Echo Emulation Echoplex Guitar Effects Pedal

Catalinbread Belle Epoch EP3 Tape Echo Emulation Echoplex Guitar Effects Pedal
YOUR BEST SOURCE FOR PRO AUDIO GEAR. Catalinbread Belle Epoch EP3 Tape Echo Emulation Echoplex Guitar Effects Pedal. The Catalinbread Belle Epoch Tape Echo, has tape echo sounds so authentic you’d swear there was tape inside the pedal! Inspired by the Maestro Echoplex, EP-3 model, perhaps the most famous tape delay ever, the Belle Epoch features everything we love about the EP-3 in a small, maintenance free pedal format. We felt that a “tape echo” pedal was much more than just a standard digital delay with some “filtering” on the repeats. There are a lot of subtle and not-so-subtle traits of the Echoplex that needed to be implemented in order to be authentic. The preamp, the self-oscillation character, the ability to play the pedal as an instrument unto itself, the ability to control the “record level” of the signal hitting “tape”, the wow and flutter, the way the repeats decay, the way the circuit interfaces with the amp and other pedals – all these things were important to get right. The Belle Epoch was designed to be run in front of your amp in the same way the Echoplex was designed to be run in front of your amp. They share almost identical input and output circuit topologies, including the passive unbuffered mixer circuit of the EP-3. However, we tuned it to have a lower output impedance than the EP-3 to not load down the output as much while still retaining the open non-buffered output interface. A buffer does just what the name implies – it isolates one circuit from the next and can create a “disconnected” feeling that is subtle but a player who relies on touch-sensitive dynamics in his rig will appreciate the difference of not having the buffer. Having said that, the Belle Epoch will perform great in almost any pedal stacking situation. But for the most authentic Echoplex-like experience, we recommend that you run it before any foundation overdrive type pedals and after fuzzes, treble boosters, and the like. For the most awesome experience, try playing it right in line before your cranked up tube amp. Preamp – Famous for making your guitar sound better even when the echoes are turned off. Quality of repeats – The Echoplex was not necessarily “hi-fi”. As the echoes repeated, the signal got progressively degraded, losing low end and gaining a shiny, percussive top end with a bit of grit. The first repeat is strong and then it gets more and more diffused as it repeats. And in a well-tuned unit, you could dial in the repeats “Echo Sustain” so that it would float almost indefinitely, or cross the threshold to self-oscillation. Record level – There’s a control on the EP-3 that sets how hard the tape gets hit. While this control was ostensibly used to optimize signal-to-noise ratio, set low it would give light and airy repeats and set high it would saturate the tape hard and give an awesome fat and grungy repeat tone. Wow and flutter – We designed the Belle Epoch’s modulation control to simulate the daily mechanical irregularities inherent in original Echoplex units. This would typically include bumpy capstan wheels, uneven tape tension, uneven motor speed, humidity, and actual ghosts? Head drag – The original unit had a unique quality that when moving the delay time slider it took a moment to catch up to the adjustment, creating a doppler like effect. The Belle Epoch reproduces this behavior while you turn the echo delay knob. The item “Catalinbread Belle Epoch EP3 Tape Echo Emulation Echoplex Guitar Effects Pedal” is in sale since Friday, September 18, 2015. New Catalinbread CSIDMAN Stutter Glitch Delay Guitar Effects Pedal
New Catalinbread CSIDMAN Stutter Glitch Delay Guitar Effects Pedal

New Catalinbread CSIDMAN Stutter Glitch Delay Guitar Effects Pedal
New Catalinbread CSIDMAN Stutter Delay Guitar Effects Pedal. This item is new, in box! I see technology as the optimistic push through the limitations of existing paradigms: limitations in materials, processes, functionality, cost, and foresight. With each spearhead of technology, the limitations of incumbents are resolved. All too often, a slew of new issues are introduced that the marketplace is willing to overlook, at least for a short period of time. It isnt too long before the marketplace demands better, and is willing to abandon the past and pay for the next-generation solution. Within a period of 125 years weve seen the evolution of recorded media go from wax cylinder phonograph, to tape, to digital. Somewhere along the way, creatives exploit and embrace the way that limitations of technologies impose themselves. Imposing their ways much like a collaborator would, a creative will often find themselves in a love/hate relationship that they cant imagine living without. What is the reason that musicians still use tape-based echo devices in an age where digital is nearly technically perfect? Wow and flutter, limited fidelity, and distortion are the hallmarks of tape technology that were engineered out over time, but musicians still often prefer tape because it adds character to their sound. So I got to thinking, What are the artifacts of other antiquated technologies that have merit in a musical context? If David Byrne can find a way to use Powerpoint in an artistic way, why cant we create a pedal that intentionally embraces technological limitations that musicians havent widely utilized? I was first introduced to glitch/stutter effects through that ridiculous Jonny Greenwood video a number of years ago. For years in the back of my head I puzzled over an application for such musical cacophony. I mean it is an over the top freakout for peak climactic moments in a performance where the music seems that it cannot rave-up any further. Cool, thats a one trick pony, right? Well, not at all. It came together when I realized the potential for this sort of effect to dice up familiar gentle sounds, in an uncomfortable yet beautiful way. I was reminded of an effect my friend and guitarist Paul Rigby (Neko Case, Garth Hudson) asked me for, something that sounded and intermittent like broken cable. Having spent time listening to Paul play. The economy, restraint and subtlety that he plays with fits almost within the subconscious of music in such a way that when hes not playing everything sounds naked and vacant. Theres also something here for these applications. I wondered if there was a cultural context for this sort of effect, something in history that would do this unintentionally Something from the human experience, like the echo effect humans have experienced for eons when shouting in a canyon Yup! One of the most frustrating experiences you may remember if you are old enough to have had one of those portable CD players that do not have pre-read buffers! The Portable CD player! There was a magical period of my youth where I could take select parts of my CD collection with me while I drove for hours around Japan. It was particularly profound because my soundtracks were carefully curated selections. All it required: a portable CD player, a stockpile of AA batteries, and a to cassette rig. The problem was that my portable CD player didnt have read-forward buffering; if I hit a bump, so did the seamless experience of my soundtrack. At the time, it was very frustrating to be interrupted right when the music was about to rock, but in hindsight, that frustration was of the sort that I would never experience again. I began to explore the possibilities of putting this frustration in a pedal. I put some Alva Noto & Ryuichi Sakamoto on and wrote the software for what would become the CSIDMAN. The first thing to keep in mind about the CSIDMAN is that it completely embraces and makes no apologies for the fact that it is digital (though it does have a 100% analog dry path). Digital is the CSIDMANs aesthetic: as a delay pedal, it strives to reproduce echoes as true to the input as possible without filtering. When you utilize its scratched disc, stuttery, and glitchy behaviors, it is pseudo-random, yet gives you a certain amount of control over the randomness. TIME Controls the echo delay lines delay time up to 725mS, as well as the rate of the glitch. MIX Gives you control over the wet/dry balance from 100% wet to 100% dry. FEED Controls the amount of feedback going back into the unit. CUTS (used in conjunction with the LATCH knob) controls the buffer memory length. LATCH controls the relative time in a cycle that the CSIDMAN is in a latching skipping state. When full counterclockwise, it doesnt skip, allowing you to use the pedal as a traditional digital delay. When full clockwise, the unit is stuck repeating whatever is in the buffer memory. At noon, this knob is a 50/50 balance (though random) between a skip-playback state and non-skip sample state. For skipping CD behaviors. FEED full counter-clockwise, though turning it up creates cool overloading effects that responds to playing dynamics. For an ambient collaborator behavior. MIX Noon or to taste. FEED anywhere turning it up creates cool overloading effects that responds to playing dynamics, but can run away regardless of MIX setting. TIME to taste, but I like starting from 9 to 12 Oclock. CUTS just below noon. For a traditional digital delay set up. Set your LATCH knob full counter-clockwise, ignore the CUTS knob, and use your TIME, MIX, FEED knobs for the desired sound as you would a traditional delay. Catalinbread Topanga Spring Reverb Guitar Effects FX Stompbox Stage Studio Pedal
YOUR BEST SOURCE FOR PRO AUDIO GEAR. Catalinbread Topanga Spring Reverb Guitar Effects FX Stompbox Stage Studio Pedal. Big wet and splashy. 60’s outboard spring reverb tank. Their goal was simple make a reverb pedal that functions just like a real deal outboard spring reverb unit. They felt that adding more knobs for the sake of adding knobs would take away from the experience, so we kept it down to the controls that were on the actual units. They only added or extended controls that contributed to the experience in a positive way. The DWELL knob controls how much signal is going into and driving reverb springs. As on the original unit, cranking this knob up can cause clipping on the wet side due to the signal crashing the springs. Though it seems to imply reverb length (and sort of functions this way), this control is quite literally a volume knob for the springs. The TONE knob allows you to roll off just the right amount of high end from only your wet signal. Roll this knob back if you want the reverb to appear to more distant and out of the way of your dry sound. They took liberties with the MIX knob extending beyond the original reverb tank units because they wanted you to be able to make the Topanga 100% wet. Otherwise it is much like the knob on the tanks, allows you to balance between your wet and dry signals. New Catalinbread Galileo MKII Overdrive Treble Booster Guitar Effects Pedal

New Catalinbread Galileo MKII Overdrive Treble Booster Guitar Effects Pedal
New Catalinbread Galileo Overdrive Treble Booster Guitar Effects Pedal. This item is new, in box! Captures the regal and soaring tones of a Rangemaster Treble-Booster into a cranked up Vox AC30. “Queen in a box”. Brian Mays sonic signature not only comes from his home built Red Special guitar, but also from a treble-booster pummeling banks of AC30s. From his guitar, to the treble booster, to the amps, his entire rig is essentially a singular musical instrument. One that inspires the sort of playing May is known for. We designed the Galileo with this playing approach in mind, that with it you can roll your guitar volume back for jangly AC30 cleans, and crank it up for searing leads and aggressive yet focused rhythm tones. There is something very special about a treble-booster hitting a Vox AC30. The midrange gets super throaty with an amazing harmonic swirl. Back the guitar volume down and that iconic Vox jangle gets magnified – it can sound angry and aggressive, yet chimey and beautiful at the same time. Its a complex harmonically laden tone that is very compelling to play. Even though the Vox AC30 is mere 30 watts, to crank one up inorder to achieve the tones that May achieved, it is VERY loud. Too much volume for most playing situations. The Galileo is a custom-tuned Rangemaster booster combined with the pre-amp section of a Vox AC30 delivering the distinctive throaty mid-range and jangly crunch of Brian May. The Galileo has three controls tuned to deliver the essence of the Brian May sound – GAIN, TONE, and VOLUME. With guitar volume knob turned full up, youll get the soaring lead tones and tight but aggressive rhythm tones of Brian May. Turn your guitar volume knob down slightly and youll be tying your mother down all night. Turn your guitar down further and youll get an amazing jangly clean sound that isnt really clean but is! In a full band context, this pedal will cut through with just the right frequencies to fit perfectly in the mix. New Catalinbread Topanga Spring Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal
New Catalinbread Topanga Spring Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal

New Catalinbread Topanga Spring Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal
New Catalinbread Topanga Spring Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal. This item is new, in box! Big wet and splashy. 60s outboard spring reverb tank. Surf guitarists wet dream. Tone Report Magazine. The outboard Fender 6G15 spring reverb unit is the sound of Surf guitar, Spaghetti Western and many other great guitar sounds from the sixties. Part of its magic, and how it differs from the internal spring reverb found in most Fender-style amps, is that it is run in front of the amp, causing the reverb signal to distort and sound more intense. Because there were additional knobs on the outboard units, you also have more control over the reverb qualities. The Dwell knob controlled how hard the springs were getting hit by the guitar signal. The Tone knob allowed the treble to be dialed back to just the right degree of brightness. It was also essentially a tube preamp, so it would color the sound going into the amp. All this added up to a very distinctive reverb sound with a lot of attitude and complex non-linearities that are hard to replicate. But we here at Catalinbread did just that! Besides giving you the classic three knob control compliment of the original, we’ve also added a great discrete preamp that you can control via the Volume knob for a healthy amount of great clean boost when you want it. Our goal was simple make a reverb pedal that functions just like a real deal outboard spring reverb unit. We felt that adding more knobs for the sake of adding knobs would take away from the experience, so we kept it down to the controls that were on the actual units. We only added or extended controls that contributed to the experience in a positive way. We took liberties with the MIX knob extending beyond the original reverb tank units because we wanted you to be able to make the Topanga 100% wet. Otherwise it is much like the knob on the tanks, allows you to balance between your wet and dry signals. Original spring tank units had a big feel to them that encourage a lot of attitude from the musician playing through them. We asked ourselves, how can we make the Topanga even bigger sounding? ! The only answer to that question was add a VOLUME knob that pushes the entire circuit! This is a modification that we have actually performed on the big tube tank units! Being an old school effect, tank reverb units were invented before effects loops etc. Had the Topanga been invented before the spring tank units, players would have put the pedal in front of their amplifiers and as close to the front of their pedal boards. You should look at your Topanga as a sort of “pre-reverb” type pedal, putting only fuzz boxes in front of it allowing splash, crash, and drench everything downstream. If you have any experience with original tank units, you wont have any problems finding your way around the Topanga. If you do not have much experience and/or if you simply want to enrich your experience with your Topanga, please check out the manual! Catalinbread Sabbra Cadabra Distortion Rangemaster Booster Guitar Effects Pedal
YOUR BEST SOURCE FOR PRO AUDIO GEAR. Catalinbread Sabbra Cadabra Distortion Rangemaster Booster Guitar Effects Pedal. The Sabbra Cadabra is a custom-tuned Rangemaster-based booster combined with the pre-amp section of a Laney Supergroup. The two circuits are carefully voiced together to achieve the riffs of doom tone that Tony Iommi is so well known for. Four controls (RANGE, GAIN, PRESENCE, and VOL 4) allow you to fine-tune the response to your guitar and rig. If you’re familiar with Sabbath’s live album,’Past Lives’, then you’ll understand where we were going with this pedal – huge, raw, responsive! The Sabbra Cadabra’s circuit is optimized for drop-tuning but works equally well for standard tuning thanks to the RANGE control, which allows you to “customize” the treble-booster section of the circuit and adjust it anywhere from treble-boost to full-range boost. Iommi, someone modded his Dallas Rangemaster. I don’t know what he did to it, but it was really good. I used that treble booster on all the early Sabbath albums and put it into the Laney because it boosted the input and gave it the overdrive I was looking for, which amps in the early days didn’t have. Then in 1979 another tech threw it into the garbage, thinking it was crap. Can you believe that? ! So no one really knows what was done to it. But based on our experience, it was most likely changing it to be more of a full-range boost and possibly re-biasing it. That’s what we mean when we say you can “customize” the treble-boost section with the RANGE knob – you can continuously adjust it to any input frequency response and feel that you want. Based on classic tones from legendary Toni Iommi. “Customizable” tone; adjust to any input frequency response.
